APA Solution
On the area of 40 m² at the Faculty of Biomedical Engineering of the Silesian University of Technology in Zabrze, APA Group is creating a Leonardo Lab, which is equipped with the BMS Nazca system and a number of functionalities. The project is assisted by partners: Rehabed.pl (manufacturer of rehabilitation beds) and Encon-koester.com (manufacturer of robots).
Leonardo Lab is a project that perfectly combines the space of science with the world of business. It enables testing of prototypes of products, services or technologies related to their manufacture. Thanks to the technological solutions applied in Leonardo Lab, these processes will now be faster and more efficient. According to the intention of the creators, Leonardo Lab will serve both university and commercial projects in order to maximize the potential of the laboratory.
The heart of the system is the Nazca BMS platform. Within the system it is possible to book rooms with visualization on a monitor at the entrance, smoothly control lighting, heating, curtains or blinds, as well as record images from 2 internal cameras. Besides, Leonardo Lab functionalities allow to measure CO2 concentration, dust concentration, temperature, humidity and electrical energy.
The laboratory was additionally equipped with air filtration system, sound system based on Ecler system, monitoring of room flooding and access control system. Researchers will be able to visualize the data acquired in the their research on a large and convenient monitor. Advanced technology, extensive measurement capabilities and an exceptionally comfortable working environment will certainly have a positive impact on the development of research in Silesia.
The idea of Leonardo Lab is to develop technological solutions that will facilitate the care of the elderly, sick or disabled. The technology is expected to effectively assist the healthcare industry in creating a better quality of life and functioning for patients. The creators of Leonardo Lab are also interested in developing technological solutions for rehabilitators and improving warning systems for hospitals.
Technologies used
BMS Nazca provides the Leonardo Lab with the following features:
- room booking system with visualization on a monitor at the entrance,
- smooth control of lighting based on presence, ambient light intensity,
- control of the interior blinds and curtains,
- video recording from 2 indoor cameras,
- measurement of CO2 concentration,
- measurement of dust concentration,
- multipoint temperature measurement (in each upper and lower corner),
- humidity measurement,
- heating control,
- sound system based on Ecler system,
- air filtration system (that's what the reed switches in the windows are for),
- room flood monitoring,
- access control system,
- measurement of electrical energy,
- data visualization on a large monitor in the room.
